Big Brother Naija star Ilebaye Odiniya’s father, Hon. Emmanuel Godson Odiniya, has broken his silence on the ongoing feud with his daughter. In an audio making rounds on social media, the father, who is currently hospitalised in Abuja, gave his own account of what led to their strained relationship.
According to him, he played a major role in Ilebaye’s victory during the BBNaija All Stars season by using his influence to rally massive support from Kogi State and beyond, including help from governors and colleagues who donated money for votes.After her win, he expected her to publicly appreciate the people who supported her, especially the Kogi community, but she allegedly refused.
He claims this was the beginning of ongoing disrespect, including insults and even physical confrontations. Odiniya, who described Ilebaye as one of his most loved children, also alleged that she once advised him to divorce her mother and introduced her younger brother to substance abuse, which caused problems at school.
The latest trigger, he said, was when he asked her to lend him money for a medical check-up in Dubai because he was low on funds. She reportedly told him she didn’t have money.
Shortly after, he saw videos of her spraying bundles of cash at her colleague Cross’s wedding.“That is not the problem, I will be happy if my daughter has to support her colleagues, but what about your father? If you help your father, is anything wrong?” he questioned.
The family drama has sparked mixed reactions online, with many condemning any form of violence while others question the entitlement on both sides.
