Ghanaian singer Captan has made surprising claims about Burna Boy’s past in Ghana, alleging that Shatta Wale once stepped in to help the Nigerian superstar after he was reportedly arrested over smoking weed.
Speaking during a recent podcast interview, Captan said Shatta Wale sent him and some others to secure Burna Boy’s release from police custody.
According to him, the Grammy-winning singer also received protection and support from Shatta Wale’s camp during another difficult period in Ghana.
“I once bailed Burna Boy out of prison in Ghana when he was arrested for smoking weed. Shatta Wale sent me and some guys to go and free him from police custody,” Captan claimed. He further alleged that Burna Boy was once being pursued by some dangerous individuals and that Shatta Wale and his team offered him shelter and helped settle the issue.
Captan explained that despite helping Burna Boy in the past, their relationship later became strained following the fallout between Burna Boy and Shatta Wale.
However, he noted that both he and Shatta Wale remain open to reconciling with the Nigerian singer if he decides to make peace.
The claims have since sparked reactions online, with fans debating the history between the Afrobeats star and the Ghanaian dancehall heavyweight.
Neither Burna Boy nor Shatta Wale has publicly responded to the statements at the time of this report.
