Afrobeats star Davido has pledged to be actively involved in ensuring that the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026 is free from manipulation.
The singer made the statement through his Instagram story, where he warned against any attempt to rig the election and insisted he would be physically present on election day to support and protect the voting process.
Davido also reaffirmed his support for his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election under the Accord Party.
In his post, he wrote that anyone who attempts to tamper with the election would face strong resistance, adding that he would “be in the field to defend the votes,” while expressing full backing for the governor.
He also shared a video clip featuring a former Independent National Electoral Commission official speaking on electoral fraud, linking it to his concerns about election integrity.
The singer has been increasingly active in Osun politics. Earlier in the year, he joined the Accord Party and was appointed head of youth mobilisation for the campaign council ahead of the governorship election.
