Nigerian nightlife personality and Proxy Club boss, Pretty Mike, has shared details about one of the most difficult moments of his life following the controversial raid on his nightclub in 2025.
Speaking during a recent interview, the socialite reflected on the emotional and financial impact of the incident, revealing that the experience happened shortly after the burial of his father.
According to him, armed officers stormed the club in the middle of the night during an operation linked to alleged drug activities.
Although he was later cleared by the court, Pretty Mike said the situation left him emotionally drained and forced him to spend heavily on rebuilding and restoring the image of his business.
Despite the controversy that often surrounds him, Pretty Mike says he has no regrets about his dramatic public appearances and headline-making stunts.
He described them as performance art and part of the entertainment business, explaining that most of his ideas come naturally without a creative team planning them.
Known for arriving at events with extravagant displays and unusual costumes, he said criticism no longer gets to him because he understands that not everyone will appreciate his creative expression.
Pretty Mike also spoke about how he got his famous nickname, explaining that friends in the United States started calling him “Pretty Mike” because he was always surrounded by beautiful women at parties.
Over time, the name became part of his public identity and brand.
Although he comes from a highly educated family with a strong academic background, he revealed that he intentionally chose a different path in nightlife and entertainment instead of following the traditional career route expected of him.
On relationships, the socialite surprised many by admitting that he still hopes to get married someday. According to him, marriage and family remain important achievements in life, despite his unconventional lifestyle.
He also revealed that physical appearance is not his main priority in a woman, saying personality and behaviour matter more to him than body shape or looks.
After surviving public criticism, legal battles and personal loss, Pretty Mike says he is focused on rebuilding bigger and continuing to entertain people in his own unique way.
