Nigerian singer Tekno has shared his thoughts on modern relationships, saying he believes love has not been the same since the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.
Speaking in a recent interview with Cool FM Lagos, the Pana hitmaker suggested that spending long periods together during the lockdown made many couples rethink their relationships.According to Tekno, the experience may have caused some people to realise they were no longer as deeply in love with their partners as they had believed.”I think since after 2020, love is not the same.
During the lockdown, people got to spend time with their lovers and realised, ‘Maybe I didn’t love this person as much as I thought.’ I think we just grew fatigued of the ones we thought we loved the most,” he said.
The singer also argued that many marriages have struggled in recent years and claimed that cases of infidelity have become more common.
Reflecting on how relationships are portrayed today, Tekno said romance no longer feels as genuine as it once did. He noted that older movies were centered on love, while many modern productions appear to focus more on attracting attention than telling authentic love stories.
His comments have sparked conversations online, with many people sharing differing opinions on whether the pandemic permanently changed the way people approach love and relationships.
