Shatta Wale Sparks Debate After Introducing GH₵100 Fan Club Membership

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has stirred reactions online after launching a paid membership programme for supporters of the Shatta Movement.

The musician announced plans to officially register members of his fan base through a structured membership system designed to collect supporters’ information and strengthen engagement within the community.

As part of the initiative, fans are required to pay GH₵100 to receive a Shatta Movement Gold Card, which Shatta Wale says will provide access to exclusive benefits and premium services.

According to the artiste, the programme is aimed at building a more organised fan network with verified membership records and additional opportunities for supporters worldwide.

However, the announcement quickly divided opinion on social media. While some fans welcomed the idea as a step towards creating a stronger and more professional fan community, others questioned why supporters should be asked to pay for membership.

Critics pointed to Shatta Wale’s frequent claims about his financial success and argued that loyal fans should not have to spend money to be part of a fan movement. Some users described the move as unnecessary, while others expressed concerns about the value members would receive in return.

Despite the backlash, supporters defended the initiative, noting that paid fan clubs and membership programmes are common among international celebrities and can offer exclusive experiences, networking opportunities, and special rewards for dedicated fans.

The discussion has since generated widespread attention online, with opinions remaining sharply divided. While some see the programme as a smart way to build a stronger fan community, others believe it places an unnecessary financial burden on supporters. As conversations continue across social media, the success of the membership programme may ultimately depend on whether fans feel the benefits justify the cost.

After the show ended, Dede made it clear that she would not have pursued a relationship with Kola, even if she had not been involved with someone outside the house. Amaarae Says Janet Jackson Deserves “King of Pop” Title Over Michael Jackson

Ghanaian-American singer Amaarae has sparked conversation after stating that Janet Jackson deserves to be called the “King of Pop” more than her late brother, Michael Jackson.

The “Sad Girls Love Money” singer made the comment while discussing Janet Jackson’s influence and her 1997 album The Velvet Rope during an interview with Pitchfork.

According to Amaarae, every Janet Jackson album stands out, but The Velvet Rope remains her strongest body of work because of its emotional depth and experimental sound.

No shade to Michael Jackson,” she added.Amaarae’s statement has added to ongoing debates about Janet Jackson’s influence in shaping modern pop music, especially among younger artists who draw inspiration from her sound and performance style.
