Actress Biodun Okeowo, popularly known as Omoborty, has shared a deeply personal story about the sacrifices she made as a single mother to support her son’s education in Canada.
After celebrating her son’s graduation from Concordia University of Edmonton, she reflected on years of hard work, emotional moments, and financial commitment that often stayed away from public view.
She revealed that she cut back on parties and luxury spending to prioritize tuition and educational expenses.
At some points, she sold some of her gold jewellery to keep things moving and admitted that there were difficult moments filled with tears and uncertainty while trying to balance bills and responsibilities.
Despite walking much of the journey alone as a single parent, Okeowo said she never felt unsupported and expressed deep gratitude for how everything turned out.
She encouraged other single parents not to lose hope or feel discouraged by the weight of responsibility, reminding them that sacrifices made for their children can eventually bear beautiful results. Her message also challenged assumptions that people who send children abroad must automatically be financially comfortable, stressing that many responsibilities happen quietly and are not reflected online.Seeing her son graduate, she said, made every difficult moment worth it and strengthened her faith in perseverance, prayer, and determination.
