A 36-year-old father in Boone County, Kentucky, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of criminal abuse involving his three-month-old daughter.
Shaun Webb was arrested on Friday, August 21, 2026, and faces 10 felony counts of criminal abuse.Authorities said an out-of-state family member handed deputies video from a nanny camera after receiving it from Webb’s wife, the infant’s mother.
According to the criminal complaint, the footage allegedly shows Webb repeatedly mistreating his baby daughter while she cried on August 19.
Deputies said the video captured Webb allegedly striking the infant and holding her by the back of the head while covering her face.
The baby was also allegedly subjected to repeated incidents in which her face was covered for several seconds.During some of the alleged incidents, Webb reportedly shouted at the baby to stop crying and told her she was going to learn.Authorities also said Webb has a two-year-old son and admitted during questioning that he had used similar disciplinary methods on the boy when he was an infant.
According to detectives, Webb described his approach to raising children as similar to training a dog and said children needed to be taught boundaries.He reportedly told investigators that his daughter’s crying was a trigger for him and acknowledged covering her mouth and nose as a way of trying to stop the crying.Webb now faces the 10 felony charges as authorities investigate the alleged abuse.
