Big Brother Naija star Segun Olusemo, popularly known as Sheggz, has finally addressed rumours surrounding his breakup with fellow reality TV star Bella Okagbue.
Sheggz confirmed that their relationship ended in January 2026 and strongly denied allegations that he was unfaithful to Bella.
In a statement shared on his social media page, the reality star explained that he had deliberately stayed quiet because he wanted to protect his family and avoid discussing his private life publicly.
However, he said he felt compelled to speak after claims about the breakup began affecting his reputation.
Sheggz said he had been single since January and insisted that he did not cheat on Bella while they were together.“For clarity, I did not cheat on Bella, and I have been single since January 2026,” he stated.The reality star also opened up about a difficult period in his life, revealing that he battled an illness in 2025 and spent a significant amount of time receiving treatment in England before returning to Nigeria in October.
According to Sheggz, events that happened during that period affected the trust between him and Bella, although both of them made efforts to resolve their differences.
He also revealed that he had serious intentions about their future together, saying he had even purchased an engagement ring because he believed their relationship could eventually lead to marriage.“I genuinely wanted the relationship to work. I even went as far as purchasing a ring because I believed in the possibility of a future together,” he said.Despite his efforts, Sheggz said the relationship eventually reached a stage where continuing was no longer possible.He stressed that he does not want the breakup to turn into a public fight involving himself, Bella or their families.
Sheggz said he would rather leave the past behind and move forward peacefully, while wishing Bella well in her future.The pair became one of the most talked-about couples after meeting during the 2022 edition of Big Brother Naija. Their relationship continued to attract significant attention from fans even after they left the reality show.
